The iMCO Co Watch is the world’s first Alexa voice-assistant Android-Powered Smartwatch that Incorporated Amazon’s Alexa as your Personal Assistant.
It was first unveiled in April last year, iMCO launched the Amazon Alexa-powered CoWatch globally in September. Since the company has rebranded the smartwatch to the iMCO Watch.
On Friday, the company announced its availability in India. Priced at Rs. 13,900, the iMCO Watch is available in two color variants – Mineral Silver and Carbon Black.
Nicely Designed Hardware and Interface
The Co Watch is attractive in a simple way that I found appealing. It has a circular stainless steel body; between that and the accompanying metal band, the effect is, while not elegant, smart enough to be suitable for both casual and business occasions.
The watch comes in silver or black; leather bands are also available for an additional charge.
Amazing Facts to Look Out For
The smartwatch brings mostly all of Alexa’s functionality which includes asking for the local weather, controlling your smart home, and looking up information like news or ordering online.
CoWatch users will be able to activate Alexa by pressing down the crown button or by tapping the Alexa icon on the display. Unfortunately, Alexa will not listen if you yell out “Amazon” or “Alexa” as you would with the Echo
While Amazon’s Alexa is the main USP of the iMCO Watch – as it is the “world’s first Alexa smartwatch – it comes with some decent features such as a 400×400 pixel AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of inbuilt storage.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b./g/n and Bluetooth v4.1. It sports a heart rate sensor.
The watch’s Notifications include Text, email, calendar, sports update, game score, phone app notification, and more. Apps: Speed dial, IFTTT, Pedometer, Heart Rate Monitor, Weather, Calendar, Alarm, Timer, Music, Flashlight, and more.
Why You Should Get it
The company believes its user interface is fast and responsive, providing quick access to all your apps and notifications. The smartwatch is compatible with both Android (v5.0 and above) and iOS (v9.0 and above).
However, with Chronologic OS, all the computing happens either on the watch itself or in the cloud, which means the smartwatch is not reliant on a Smartphone to work.

While the CoWatch does bring some interesting ideas to the smartwatch table and shows plenty of potentials, ultimately it doesn’t mask the niggling issues that make it frustrating to use at times.
The CoWatch does the smartwatch basics well, but if you are looking for more from those software extras, you’re going to feel let down
